One step closer for Guleslettene

The Norwegian Department of Oil and Energy – OED – has reaffirmed the consession to build and operate a wind farm of 160 MW in Guleslettene in the municipals of Bremanger and Flora.

DONGs shares is acquired by Østfold Energi

Three power companies have acquired DONG Energy’s shares in Zephyr. The deal, that was made today, saw Østfold Energi AS get a 50 % share of the company, whilst Vardar AS and Energiselskapet Buskerud AS each have a 25 % share of the company.

Two consessions on the same day

Zephyr are granted two consessions by NVE today. In Vågsvåg and in Guleslettene. The two projects would have a current potential of 184 MW installed effect and a yearly production volume of 520 GWh of pure, renewable wind energy.

Start for Mehuken III

In August the task of replacing five wind turbines at Mehuken III in Vågsøy in Sogn and Fjordane began. Zephyr leads the project management team for this operation. Five Vestas turbines from 2001 will be replaced by three Enercon-turbines. The modernization is expected to increase the yearly output by 9,5 GWh.

Consession for Tellenes wind farm-project

On March 27th the Norwegian Department of Oil and Energy gave Tellenes Vindpark DA the final go ahead for a new wind farm in Tellenes in the municipals Sokndal and Lund in the county of Rogaland.

Consession to Mehuken III

Operating company Kvalheim Kraft has been granted a consession by NVE to build three new turbines at the Mehuken windpower-plant in Vågsøy in the county of Sogn and Fjordane. The turbines will replace five turbines that today is known as Mehuken I.

Zephyr-consession is valid

The Norwegian Department of Oil and Energy have declined the complaints on Zephyrs consession for a wind power plant in Snillfjord in the county of Sør-Trøndelag. This means Zephyr can celebrate it’s first enforcerable consession in Norway!

Consession to Tellenes

Zephyr is handed a consession for the development of a wind farm in Tellenes in the county of Rogaland. The farm will have a yearly production of up to 520 GWh of renewable wind energy.

Implementation of e-invoice

In order to reduce the time spent on scanning and handling invoices manually, Zephyr has implemented the use of electronic invoices together with our partner Pagero.

Zephyr celebrates first consession

NVE has handed Zephyr a consession for a 130 MW windpower plant in Remmafjellet in the municipal of Snillfjord in the county of Sør-Trøndelag. This is Zephyr’s first consession

Opening hours at the office in Dalane

Beginning September our project manager Arild Fjeldahl will be available for enqueries and questions the first Thursday of the month at our regional community office in Hauge in Dalane.

Watch the Mehuken-extension

In 2010 Mehuken in Sogn og Fjordane was extended with 8 new turbines. The work was documented by a filmcrew from Høgskulen i Volda. Now their ten minute long video is ready for all to see. Enjoy!

Crowds gather to see Mehuken

150 gathered to get a better look at the wind farm in Mehuken when operator Kvalheim Kraft organized an “open house”-event on May 14th.

Lights off in Mehuken

Kvalheim Kraft, operator of the wind farm in Mehuken, have ordered a new radar system from OCAS. This in turn will mean that the aviation warning lights can be turned of, much to the delight of local residents in the area.

New office in Dalana

Due to our commitment to wind power in the county of Rogaland, Zephyr has opened a regional office in Hauge to facilitate a good dialogue with the municipals, landowners and other stakeholders in the region. The address is Gamleveien 24.

First meeting in Flatanger

On August 31st the first meeting was held in the newly developed cooperation meeting arena for the project for Innvordfjellet. The meeting was held in a good spirit in Flatanger at the Zanzibar Inn, with the aim to address questions from the local residents.

Zephyr to manage Kvalheim Kraft

Zephyr will be taking on the responsibilities of daily management of Kvalheim Kraft DA. Zephyr CEO, Olav Rommetveit, will be taking on the role as managing director of Kvalheim Kraft.

Kvalheim Kraft owns the wind farm in Mehuken. Pål Sandnes from Zephyr will be operating manager for the wind power plant in Sogn og Fjordane.

Created Guleslettene Vindkraft AS

On January 9th Guleslettene Vindkraft AS was established. The company aims to benefit from the good wind conditions in Bremanger and Flora by developing av wind farm at Guleslettene. The company is a joint-venture with our partner Elkem Fornybar Energi AS.

Created Bremangerlandet Vindpark AS

Thursday was a day of joy as it was a day that saw the creation of the new company Bremangerlandet Vindpark AS – a joint-venture between Zephyr AS and our business partner Vestavind Kraft AS. The company is located in Sandane in the county of Sogn og Fjordane.

Seminars for wind-energy municipals

In September Zephyr have hosted a wind energy seminar for stakeholder municipals in the county of Sogn og Fjordane. The seminar was a joint effort with partner companies Kvalheim Kraft, Vestavind Kraft and Sula Kraft and was held in beautiful and windy surroundings at Smøla.

Community meeting held in Bremanger

An information meeting was held in Bremanger on August 25th by Zephyr and our business partner Vestavind Kraft. In the meeting we provided landowners and local residents with our ambitions for a wind farm in Bremangerlandet.

Power companies to create a new windpower company

Power companies Østfold Energi AS and Vardar AS have cooperated on wind power-projects in Norway for several years already, and between them own Kvalheim Kraft, a company that owns and operates five wind turbines in Vågsåy. Since the summer of 2005 there have been close talks with Danish company ENERGI E2 about cooperation on projects in Norway. Now this will be a reality!

Zephyr AS is established

Monday was a day to remember as it saw the creation of a new company – Zephyr AS. Sarpsborg in the county of Østfold will be the HQ for the company and where the business will reside, but the company will operate an be active within wind energy projects throughout Norway. Stfold Energi, Vardar AS and ENERGI E2 are the three power companies that have made a joint-venture in pursuit of windy times.
